Merry Christmas... to all. and a surprise inside.

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good Christmas with your love ones and got something special from old jolly himself. I got some blue jeans and couple of t-shirts and white t-shirts. Along with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamps it the one with the 20s truck and car... I guess it called "Enjoy The Journey" not sure. I also got Tim Holtz Distress Stain that comes in a bottle. I got three in a pack they are: Barn Door, Mustard Seed and Faded Jeans. I thought I was going to get the ink pads but the bottle ones will do fine too. I already played with my new stamps broke them in already. I know Paul and Kory will be proud, lol :P I also got art profile I wanted to put my smaller artwork in to protect them. So, all in all I had a wonderful day and got to see few family members. Just relax and figure out how to go about a project I am going to be doing for my older brother and sister. It probably most likely going to be their birthday presents which I have a lot of time to do since both of their birthdays are in the summer. I'll let you in on it I'm thinking of doing a mini album of our dad childhood and up to present. It probably going to be title, "Dad's life in Pictures".  I'm only making two albums for example one will be for my sister near end of dad picture album will be pictures of dad and her and same for my older brother. My younger brother was going to make one for him too. But I know he not into pictures or cares for it at all.

Now for the surprise! I decided to put up another video! It is mainly a tag video I was tagged by lady to answer some questions. I thought it was fun way to let others know bit about myself. The beginning is mainly about how my day went etc. After that I answer the 9 questions. Hope you all enjoy and considered it a little gift from me to all of you. Like you can't get enough of me already, lol. Take care and have a good rest of the week.

Have a joyous rest of your week and wish you all the best in the New Year... 2013!

Another around of stuff! + Video

Hey folks,

Hope all is well with everyone.  I bought some stuff online I was going to go to Michael's or Jo Ann's but decided why not shop online it more easier at least I think so. I bought some paper and a new punch from scrapbook.com and this morning it came to my door. Even my extra Silhouette matte, blade and a dust cover to put over my cameo came in the mail too.
It been cold here in Michigan I don't know about you all where you at. But we got our first snow fall few days ago. It now gone but I expect more to come in the next few weeks.  I don't know why I write blogs about stuff I buy but hey why not, lol. I know one person who enjoys my not too important  scrapbooking supplies. I'll add some projects I made with the paper I bought in due time.

I decided to add one of my vlog to this blog because the last part of this vlog I show you what I got in the mail. Even though I have pictures below showing you my supplies. I figure most of you would enjoy hearing me speak even though I am not that good of a talker at least in my opinion, hahaha. Well hope you all have a good weekend and got most of your Christmas shopping done. I haven't really started my yet and Christmas will be here in two weeks! :P I'll go this weekend and try to get it all done before the weekend ends. Enjoy hearing myself speak and the two pictures of scrapbook glory.

P.S. I do have a YouTube channel... I just talk about stuff  what going on in my life. Nothing special but if you want to see more like the video I have below. Search for jazzman22 or just click on the title of the video and it'll take you to my channel.

Heritage Pages Part 2

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a good Turkey day. I know I did and I really enjoyed my blueberry pie too, lol.
It is 4:34am here in Michigan night owl here like always. I got to find myself a decent bedtime. But once a night owl always a night owl.

Here two layouts I decided to do I'm trying to come up with different ideas. I should have realize when I was cutting out some of the bo bunny journal cards they my writing might not show up as good. Next time I'll learn to maybe use a darker color pink like blue or something. Since I found some acid free gel pens I have. It amazing what you find when you clean your room!
Let me know what you guys think I want to know what you all think of my layouts so far. I love getting feedback on my projects. It helps me become better artists I think. Have a great weekend.

Digital ArT

Hello everyone finally decided to put some artwork of my digital work. For the world to see some of you might already seen theses pieces. Some probably have not I decided to just put a couple on here for you guys to enjoy. Also, I wanted to see what you guys thought of my work. All these were done in my spare time when I had nothing better to do. So, decided to build on my skills as a photoshop artists. Leave me some comments and let me know what you all think and how I could improve on them if needed.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that lives in the States!
My parents are in the kitchen making pies for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I know I'm going to eat the heck out of the blueberry pie and even the pumpkin pie. When I was a kid I didn't care for pumpkin pie. But now it taste really good! Strange how as you get older your taste buds seem to change. In what you thought you didn't like to really liking as an adult.

New Heritage pages!

Hey everyone it a very early Monday morning. Hope all is well with you so far. I just got done with few new heritage layouts. I liked how both of them turned out one is a double spread but had to take two different photos. Since I couldn't get a decent shoot of the double page. I like the first one I call "A Mother's Love" I guess you could it a "true" scrapbook page lol. Another is a double page layout I tried to make it look like the pictures are on a colorful "old table cloth".

A Mother's Love - Lura Maude (Thomas) Smith with her daughter's
Ila and Nanel Smith. They are my paternal grandmother's Aunt and cousins.

This is layout is a double spread called: Table Cloth of Family Photos.
Couldn't take a picture of the whole layout so just took two different photos.
The lady and young man is my paternal great-grandfather's Aunt and Cousin.

This is part of the other half of the two spread layout. The young woman
in the photo. Is the daughter and sister of the two people in the above layout.

A Design I wanted to share with you...

Hi everyone,

How your Sunday going so far? My Sunday going well not too bad today my birthday and I turn 30! Can't believe my 20s are now gone and I'm going into my 30s lol.
I wanted to share with you a design a guy made for me and I really liked it. He said I could share with you all.  He wanted to show me how I could use some of my art and turn into Digital layout or  any kind of art for that matter! Have to say he got me inspired to do more photoshop  art. His name is Paul Browning he from the United Kingdom...  He used most of my paper distress ink background you  can see  under the post "My Little distress ink project" on my blog. He took some photos of me I had on facebook. Just went at it to make I would have to say a photo poster.

Here Paul's blog if you wanted to take a look... I'm pretty sure most of you ladies and guys have seen him around. Or are followers like me to his blog. If not here you go... http://theartsiders.blogspot.com

The pictures and some of the textured paper belongs to Justie Stilwell
and the design is credit to Paul Browning @2012.

A family remembers

I did this layout of my Great-Grandfather and Great- Uncle. It my grandmother's father and younger brother. They both died in a terrible accident in Feb 1950. I decided to make this page as simply as I could. I was named after my Great- Grandfather my father didn't like the name my mother had picked out for me. So, she asked my father what both of his grandfathers names were. He said  they were John and Justie. My mother liked the name Justie. So, she and my father named me after the man in the top right corner of this layout. My mother told me when she told my grandmother my name. She cried I guess she got emotional knowing that another one of her grandchildren was carrying on a person she loved name. My older cousin who is the first grandchild for my grandparents. Is named Joe, not sure if he was named after "the" Joe, you see in this layout. But I have a feel he was. Anyway, to make it more interesting I decided to put some of the planets or leaves in the corners. I decided to put their names beside their picture. I used Tim Holtz's distress ink Walnut Stain on the letters. I also used my zig memory black pen to edge the letters a little bit. I think it finish but I wonder what you all think?

Looking back at PaSt Ideas....

Hi everyone,

Here are some sketches I did for some of my graphic design classes while in college. One with my name in full color and looking like it going to push it self off the cliff. It was my own creation nothing to do with the colleges sketches. It was just included in my sketch book. Since the drawings you see come from my second sketche book. Since my first one was full! Well, this my third one if you count my very first sketch book from high school as one! My first college sketch book just either had rough drawing, ideas, writing of ideas, print out of some of my digital artwork since I did one in a drawing  and my art teacher really liked it. If anyone you want to see some of my past drawings from my college days or even high school days. Let me know I do have some posted on a website but not all are on there. I might just let you see some that I never posted online. Just let me know in the comments below. I'll post some more in future blogs.
Enjoy some of my drawing all these were pencil drawings and just rough  ideas I had! I decided not to throw them away or tear them out of my sketch book. Just decided to add some color to them and see how they turned out. I have to say I like each of them...

Happy Early Monday...

How everyone doing on this early Monday morning. I guess I'm still in the night owl mood. I'll be posting a few layouts in the next week or so... Look out for that just taking a break. I have been know to do that often with all my artwork. I always seem to get back into it sooner or later, lol. I guess just have to find that mood of doing more artwork. I have been working on  a artwork about my grandmother's family. My mother and I are making blanket. Where we can hang-up on her wall. With pictures of her family (parents, brothers, sisters, her and her husband, kids, grandkids, great- grandkids.) I'm working on the pictures now. I'm using the distress ink background paper. I made. I think it'll work nicely for the project. I just have to print out a black and white and color photo. So, my mom can see if it'll match the fabric she wants to use.

I'm thinking of making a card for my parents 34th wedding. Just have to figure out what type of card to make using my Silhouette Cameo. I have been looking at the online store but nothing stands out as of yet. I think we the millions of ideas I have I should just go and work on them, lol. I was wondering what you guys think of my blog. If  I should add more to it or leave it as is. What do you guys think or any ideas to how I can make it more appealing? Let me know in the comments below. Hope you all have a wonderful start to your week.

Hello! Silhouette Cameo...

Hope everyone having a good evening so far! Well I finally bought a Silhouette Cameo last Tuesday from amazon.com. For a good price it was $249.00 the best part was it was free shipping and handling. I was surprise it came to my house by Friday morning. I been playing around with all weekend along. I now know it was a good investment for me. But I'm really enjoying the machine so far. I just have to buy a extra matte and blade and some tools to help get it off the matte. I just might go to Wal-Mart and get the circut tools. They are basically  just a name brand and different colors on it.

Anyways I decided to show the few things I cut with the Silhouette Cameo. I even use Tim Holtz distress ink and some stamps for some of them. Here, what I been doing the last few days.

The letters and leafs or vines I cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
I use my black zig fine point to go along the edges of the letters
To make them more interesting and to make them pop out a little.
This is going in my first page of my grandmother family album.

All four of the leafs were distress with some new stamps I bought.

The circle I use Walnut stain to distress it and use another one of my stamps.
(Tim Holtz Visual Artistry) Collection Stampers Anonymoes

The tage I use Peeled Paint distress ink.
I also use anoter one of Tim Holtz stamps from the same collection.

The Pictures of the pinkish rainbow sky...

Hope  your weekend went well... My weekend went well not too bad. Just been relaxing and chilling around the house. I just order the Silhouette Cameo on amazon.com so it should be here sometime next week. Can't wait to play with it and see what I can come up with it. I download the Silhouette software yesterday and played around with it. I think I'll enjoy the machine when it arrives.

The other day I took a few pictures of the sky over our house. Well, my dad said, Hey Justie! grab your camera come out and take a few pictures of the sky. I did that only took three but I like the two photos. That you'll see I guess it rained out near the bay.  The sky was a pinkish color and you could see a bit of the rainbow. Trying to creep in the sky it was cool looking.

I took these two photos you see here with my Canon Rebel T2i DSLR. I then imported them into photoshop CS5 and fit them up a bit and put some gradient filter in both photos. The first one I put a bit of blue and green gradient filter and light it up bit. Then put a border around it. The second photo I put a bit of purple gradient in and then made the bit softer and darker with some hard and soft lighting. I also put another border of back around the second photo. I usually just go along with what I like and see fit well in the picture. I enjoy playing around with my photos. Because most are just photos I take for myself. Also, before I forget I did turn off the verification but I turned on where comments are sent to my email. For approval before your comments can be posted on my blog.
Have a good rest of your week!

My Little distress Ink projects

Happy Wednesday!

Hope everyone having a great day... Last night I tried out my new Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I think I'll be using for alot of my projects mainly my paper projects even paintings. I like the affect if you spray water on to it. I even use my fingers to get the affect I wanted out of them. I use a sheet of white paper the one that came with the page protectors. I cut it into four squares and then use my decorative scissors to cut the edges. Then I just went to town with creating different looks. One I mix one color each on the paper. Yes, I did use different foam for each color...
I like how it came out and use a little bit of color. The other three I just use the one color each. I liked how each has turned out. I am probably going to use them in my heritage albums. Maybe for matting photos but I think it will be for journal information for my pages.

Got some things!

Hey everyone got some stuff from Michaels today since I got a coupon for 50% off sale items. I got some Tim Holtz Distress ink vintage photo, walnut stain and peeled paint. Also two ink applicateurs along with Tim Holtz collection stampers anonymous "visual artistry" stamps. Including two decorative scissors for some of my photos and papers. I saw a advanced tape glider on sale for 19.99 it regular price was 44.99. I decided to get it since it might help save on tape and help gluing bigger pieces to my projects. Overall got what I needed and went and paid my stuff and left.

I guess when there is a sale of 50% off everyone comes out to grab what they can, lol. I even saw a few guys in Michaels today. I guess I am going to go watch switch at birth on Hulu and a few other shows. While playing with my distress inks. Have a good Tuesday evening folks.

The start of my Heritage album...

Hi

Everyone hope you had a good weekend? It 2:39 in the morning I am a night owl what can I say, lol. I have started my heritage album pages for one of the books I am doing. It the album of my Grandma Stilwell's side of the family. The Currie - Thomas family. I now know I am going to get the Silhouette Cameo to finish off the book. I still have ways to go with the book. But if I keep at it I could probably be done with it by the end of this week.

I am probably going out tomorrow to Michaels to pick up some Tim Holtz distress inks. I saw a coupon in the paper for 50% off any regular price item at Michaels. Going to use that to buy somethings. Well, I guess I should end this blog and try to get some sleep! At least I hope I can sleep. Here are few layouts. Please let me know what you all think. Leave comments like to read your opinions maybe give me some ideas for my next layout.

Happy Thursday!

Hi everyone,

Hope you all are having a good day! I finally did a couple of layouts to my heritage album. It nothing fancy just simply ones as can be. I'm still getting use to this site. So, hope you all can just bare with me while I am still learning everything on here. Hope you all enjoy the new layout and let me know what I could improve on here. Or, give me some pointers to make it a better blog...

I'll put some of the heritage layouts on here maybe later today if I am not in the middle of doing another one, lol. Nothing much going on here just trying to find work again. But I realize I need to get my drivers license if I want to work. Well, a good job that pays well and maybe I can finally move out of my parents house. I know how to drive get my driver permit renew every 6 months. But it a pain in the neck to have to pay $25.00 to renew it. I guess I should stop being a BIG chicken of others on the road and just take the road test. I just might surprise myself. Well better get going see you all around. Look out for some artwork and layouts on the site soon!

Bought some goodies!

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone having a great day... It a beautiful day here in Bay City. It been chilly for the last few days. My dad said it was chilly early this morning. But it did warm up when we went out and about. I had to pay some bills. I decided to go to Jo Ann's and pick up some stuff like stamps and extra ink pad. I pick up some bird stamps and some Memento black ink and one other thing that got my eye. It's called a "Rubber Stamp Pad" I guess it suppose to leave good ink impressions. I'm going to try that out and see how it works. I didn't pick a lot of things since I knew my order form scrapbook.com was coming today!

I went to look for some Pioneer page protectors but they didn't have them. So, I decided to go to Meijer and look around it been while since I been in Meijer. I found some page protectors and even bought a Pioneer photo album that you can put about 300 photos in. Because I got most of our photos including some of both of my grandmother photos. So I have enough to put in I even pick up a photo box (plastic) that had little photo cases inside where you can keep your photos in. Also, pick up some smaller clear blocks for my stamps. Can't have too many now can you!? I guess only thing I need is Tim Holtz distress ink guess I have to go to Michael's in Saginaw to get those...
When I got home my package was waiting for me! I was excited to open it I love the Tom Holtz stamp called Road Trip, I order with the Bo Bunny Et Cetera Collection 12x12 paper and 36 pages of the same paper but smaller the 6x6 pad. I can use that for journaling information or for photos. I also got Rangers Archival Ink- Jet Black and last but not least I didn't know that the clear block would be big 6x6 but I should have realize but it'll work will with my larger stamps.

Now, I guess I'm going to play around with my stamps for bit. But going to watch some youtube clips before I start. Then after that do some stamping artwork and put on some Hulu or Netflix don't know which one yet. While I do my artwork. Have a good one guys. Here are some photos of the items I bought and my order that came in the mail.

Order from Scrapbook.com, Clear 6x6 block, Bo Bunny Et Cetera Collection 6x6 pad,

I'm Back!!!

Hi,

I'm back at trying to blog again. I decided to redesign this site give it a little bit of an updated look, lol. I don't know where this blog will go but for now decided to put to good use by displaying some of my artwork on here. For some of you to look at if you want to. Nothing much going on in my life at the moment still trying to look for a new job. I didn't think looking for work would be hard but it is. But not trying to think of it too much just trying to live everyday to the fullest and keep myself busy with my artwork. Even keeping up with what going on in the world.

I have started to scrapbook now and getting into it more it helping me be more creative in new ways. I'm in the process of making three scrapbooks one for each of my three grandparents. I'm also going to try and do a scrapbook of all the animals. We had over the years and we had few interesting and funny animals. I just started to write the stories for the animals. Now, now have to wait for my stuff to arrive! I order some scrapbook supplies more paper!!! Yeah more paper then what I know what to do with. But it good to have some extra paper on hand. It'll work with my heritage family albums. I even bought some stampes and ink to try out. The stampes I bought it called "Road Trip" from Tim Holtz. I really enjoy Tim Holtz work he is one of the few creative guys out there. Whom, stuff I really enjoy. Hope you all have a great Friday evening and a great weekend!
